Examination of Mitsubishi Electric’s head office retrofit and efficiencies achieved going from a rooftop unit to a VRF heat recovery system.

Join Gary Chang from Mitsubishi Electric Sales Canada as he details the project, challenges, solution and benefits of the retrofit. Constructed in 1991, Mitsubishi Electric's head office had a 90-ton R22 air volume rooftop air handling unit with VAV electric heaters and baseboard heaters for the first floor. Since then, a partial retrofit has been done, which saw the addition of a geo-exchange water source VRF system. This full retrofit project saw the installation of a VRF with an ERV.

This presentation was part of our Refrigeration Technical Training Day on June 26.
