This comprehensive course is based on the new CSA Standard F280-12 “Determining the Required Capacity of Residential Space Heating and Cooling Appliances”, a standard that is referenced in National/Provincial Building Codes for sizing heating & cooling appliances for a dwelling unit. 

The course specifically teaches individuals how to carry out heat loss and heat gain calculations by hand in accordance with CSA F280-12 standard, using the Residential Heat Loss and Heat Gain calculation worksheets developed by HRAI. 

After completing this course, individuals will receive Certification and are expected to apply heat loss heat gain calculation knowledge in their day-to-day work when sizing heating/cooling appliances, whether they choose to use HRAI’s worksheets or other alternatives (e.g., develop their own worksheets to use or use RHLHG software).
