This course begins with a brief history of plenum codes, what they are, and where they are applicable. It covers materials used in the plenum space along with their pros and cons. It then discusses how other materials attempt to claim approval by modifying the code. Actual test results are reviewed and recommendations are provided to ensure proper code compliance.

At the end of this course you will be able to 

• Identify materials that are being used in the plenum waste drainage industry.
• Discuss some of their advantages and disadvantages. 

We will also be examining the plenum code considerations:  

• What are the relevant standards engineers should be looking for?
• What materials currently pass the standards?
• How are other materials modifying the standards to make it look like they’re passing, when in fact they are not?
